All My Books

All My Books 5.2

Archive, organize, and track your collection of books

Unlike many other managing tools designed to help you organize your personal library, which is usually limited to e-books in any of their many formats, All My Books offers you an integrated solution to keep your entire book collection neatly organized and catalog. Of course, you can use it to create your own e-book library, but you can also add to it any printed book on your shelves as well as any audiobook on CD or file.

This attractive utility, wrapped in a professional-looking and nice-to-look-at interface is, therefore, much more than just an e-book management tool. It helps you keep your entire book collection organized, and even know at all times which books you lent, when, and to whom. The program takes advantage of the many book sites available on the Web to find out more about your books, incorporate their metadata and even add a nice cover to them, so they look even nicer on the various bookshelf views that it offers.

Do not expect to find some of the tools that are common in e-book cataloging tools, such as an e-book converter, and e-book editor, or even an e-book reader for that matter. All of those would be great additions to All My Books, but that is not what this tool is about. All My Books is more of a traditional library cataloging and management tool than anything else. That is why it includes directories for all your authors, statistics about the kind of books that you have in your collection, as well as a directory of all the friends and relatives that usually borrow books from you. You can check at any time which books are due already, who has them, and the easiest way to contact them to claim back your beloved books.

This more “traditional” approach does not prevent All My Books from making use of more “modern” capabilities, such as an e-book finder that will add to your collection any e-book file on your PC or any external storage device, as well as the option to transfer to your e-book reader any e-book in your collection. It supports all the most common e-book formats and the most widely used e-book readers, such as Kindle or Sony Reader.

And that is what makes All My Books stand out from many similar books managing and cataloging tools. This is not a tool for your electronic books only – it is a tool suitable for all your books, including MP3, WMA, M4A, or Audible audiobooks that you can even listen to on your computer directly from All My Books. The program is neither free nor cheap, but many book collectors will find the licensing fee worth the plethora of useful features that it offers.
